Ethical fashion entrepreneur Rachel Weeks launched School House while researching socially responsible apparel manufacturing initiatives in Sri Lanka. There, the US Fulbright Scholar found a way to synthesize ideas about fair labor practices with a desire for more fashionable collegiate apparel, and School House was born.
First and foremost, SCHOOL HOUSE IS ABOUT PEOPLE. We pay premium prices and work one-on-one with suppliers and apparel workers in our facilities to ensure everyone is paid fairly, treated equitably and instructed with integrity. Why? Because School House believes that a FREE BUT FAIR FASHION MARKET is possible, and that when it teams up with QUALITY DESIGN, it’s UNSTOPPABLE.
OUR MISSION is to humanize how the apparel industry does business. Whether its being a better buyer in someone else’s factory, sourcing materials from people we can shake hands with or performing the simple act of paying someone a decent wage for their work, we’re CHANGING THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT APPAREL.
